I've got a problem with a document created in pdf and i've imported it into quark the print comes out with speakles around the text. but if i create it in quark it prints out fine.Is it because the pdf is at a low resolution ?

the pdf - what was it created in? It wasnt "created in pdf" - once we know the programme that made it maybe we can find a solution mate

so - there's speckles around text?

what are you "printing" to? via a rip? ps level?

and what app are you printing from?

It was a photoshop pdf imported into quark and printed from quark to a creo rip using ps level 3.

If you create a document in quark it prints fine.

if you print the pdf from photoshop it prints with dots around it if it is a process black or a color txt.

i know its a photoshop problem i think ?

it prints out on a dc12 but that prints at 600 dpi and this is 1200 dpi from a km 6500c pro machine with a creo or fiery rip.

Best answer about Photoshop PDF files and type - DO NOT MAKE THEM! Unless file size was created at the dpi size you run at (minimum 600dpi) it will alot of times be fuzzy. Photoshop type is bad. And I bet when the PDF was made, it was compressed. Best case, open that PDF in Photoshop and see how bad the type looks there. If it looks bad there, it will not be any better anywhere else.
