I want to get an advice about my career. I am a self taught Graphic Designer and Pre-press Professional. I am working with a newspaper publisher in Oman. I am working with CtP department now. With all humbleness I declare I am good in my work. In fact I implemented the CtP and lots modern system in my company.

Recently company proposing me to take care of the photo quality in their newspaper. They want to assign the responsibility on me. But not give any special post etc.

I want to propose a managerial post apart from pre-press manager or production manager. I support all the production departments, from advertising to pre-press, (even some time press), conduct training and do the research to develop quality. I will be grateful if you propose some name for the post.

keep up your good job and hope for the best, remember you are always being watched irrespective of your post. you will reap the reward. just if you insist on a post, studio manager can be one.

I completely agree with Shaikh. Keep doing the best job you can, regardless of what the title is. Remember, a title is what they give you when they can't or won't give you any more money. And money is a measurement of responsibility. (so is the size of your key-ring, btw.)

Even if your current company doesn't recognize you're doing the best you can at your current job, another one will.

I've worked in a print media house before too so I understand you and your editor. The new post assigned to you may include treatment, croping and manipulating pictures. All these are best enjoyed in photoshop because feather will be needed.

Ialso work with editable Acrobat through the use of Plugins.

Changing of the colour of a particular item in the picture or the entire picture may also be required.

I am working in commercial Printing press from 1 & half year, now I want to shift in Printing Software designing. I have done C, C++ . Is it sufficient for me to shift in software designing.
