scribus on mac os x

The standalone application scribus is not working under LEOPARD, the only functionable scribus is the one you must install through macports and use with x11.

I also like being able to right-click. I use both Mac and PC at my current job and the only real annoyance about switching to the Mac side is that I forget I can't right click on a one-button mouse.

You can install another type of mouse. I have an 5 button mouse. I am able to right-click

As both a Mac and PC user myself, I really have no issues with not having a right click. I almost always have my left hand sitting near or on the control key, which is just as easy to hold down and then click the mouse. I think each platform has its goods and bads, but all in all, I can use either. The only real issue I have with PCs is still that it seems like every time I have to deal with other people's problems on their computer, it seems to be a virus issue, and rarely do you see this on the mac side.

mouse and right click

I never bothered about this, but since I use Apple's mighty mouse I can only say it is pleasure to go thru a indd-file, scrolling and clicking.

The Mighty Mouse is the Mightiest of ALL Mice. It's so good I have a brain fart panic attack when I sit on a computer with a regular mouse. Who would've thought a little scroll ball would have such an impact on the Mac Platform!

Glad to see you joining us again BM - everyone I know says the "ball" stops working, or partially working after a year, year and a half of good use. I am one that only need the basic mouse, so I have better things to spend that 40-50 dollars on, like cold ones or a big steak

I probably have one in a drawer somewhere. I do not throw anything away when it comes to parts. You never know when you might need it,. or when someone is going to want to buy it from you -

Hiya

as toolkits go, I have not found either platform outperforms the other in any great respect, but the maintenance issue does push me toward the Mac side of things.
Hard drive failures have been rare on the Mac's here, where as the PC's do go down on an almost regular basis
