Hi KC, Are you talking about creating a screen tint that is visually continuous, but will render say VOID etc if copied on a copier? We built one once using stochastic inside an AM sceened background using photoshop. It took some trial and error but we did produce something that worked.

Yes, what I am looking for is a software that does the VOID copy.
We are looking for a complete package to offer our customers.
We may have found one already, but thank you for your input
anyway.

Hi KC, can you tell us the name and maybe a URL of the software that you found. I see you'e in Fort Worth, do you know Dick & Scott Monzingo from Anchor Press? They shutdown I heard but they were really good folks. What kind of presses do you guys run there?

I never meet the Monzingos, but I had heard about them.
We run 3 40" Sheetfeds 1 29" sheetfed and a half web.

Hi guys, I have done this by taking the Void Type as a bitmap image, convert to 50% halftone and then convert back to bitmap, use 800 dpi raster and instaead of 50% threshhold, make it random dither. Then, place that ontop of a 50% background and although visually same, when copied, that VOID will come out as the pattern is too tight to resolve by a copier. It requires a little testing but once you got it, it will work easily and very well, no special software needed.

I have done some of the same tests and have gotten
some good results. The customer we are doing this
for is looking for something a little more complex.
I think that I have found the software we are looking
for. It is put out by Amgraf, Inc. and is called
Mecca 2000.
